26,0°E October 2020 overview

This is the second position to which I turned my dish Laminas 2700. From the point of view of European cultural customs, the program offer is probably not very attractive. Although there are a few sports programs and some movie channels run freely with an English soundtrack and Arabic subtitles. Technically, however, it contains several satellites with differently directed beams, so the area for research into reception conditions is really wide. So what can we find here in the Ku band:

At first, I was quite skeptical about receiving non-European bonds. But then it turned out that here and there I could expect a pleasant surprise. The screenshots are from a period when I had no idea about the number of beams and their direction. I will gradually add more examples if I can capture the image. By this I want to point out that not all data will be from one day or even from one hour.

The signal strength is subject to similar laws as the weak signal from the 28.2 ° E position. It has a 24-hour cycle during which the signal strength changes regularly. Unlike broadcasting at 28.2 ° E, where the maximum is more in the morning, at 26.0 ° E the maximum is more in the evening. According to www.dishpointer.com, the rotation of the polarization planes is up to -6 ° differently than would be expected from the skew of the surrounding Astra satellites. And now to the promised overview.

10/21/2020 Appendix.

And then I got water in a waterproof box and my EGIS positioner control stopped working. And I'm stuck in this position without the possibility of fine-tuning weak signals. The weather is more or less still rainy, so unfavorable for some income records. So I'm thinking about whether to repair the existing control unit, or start developing a new prototype with the possibility of regulating the speed of rotation of the motors and controlling the servomotor to set the skew. I will inform you about the news.
